Do you have a passion for planning and managing extravagant special events? As the Special Events Manager, you will be responsible for creating exceptional customer experiences through extraordinary events and parties. If you would like to be on a team of Great People delivering great service, we may have just the opportunity for you.
 

The job involves:

  • Researching, designing and executing fully themed, high profile player events
  • Managing creative concepts, presentations, gift sourcing, menu tasting and contract development and negotiation
  • Providing clear communication and direction to all support staff during events, special projects and daily activities
  • Overseeing and monitoring all event details including; décor, rentals, transportation, accommodation, photography and entertainment
  • Developing, monitoring and analyzing departmental budgets
  • Building relationships and coordinating event requirements with multiple departments
  • Developing post event financial and logistical evaluations/analysis to ensure continuous improvement
  • Working in an environment that includes restricted lighting and space, prolonged exposure to loud music, strobe lighting, standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Promoting a safe and hazard free work environment
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary to support a 24/7 operation

The ideal candidate has:

  • Post Secondary Certification in Marketing (Event Planning/Special Events)
  • Minimum 3 years progressive experience in the special events industry
  • Managed and mentored a high functioning support team
  • A proven track record managing and planning multi-faceted, high profile, themed events
  • Experience with catering, procurement of merchandise/services, technical production, and pre/post production of an event
  • Exceptional decision making and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to  manage multiple projects and meet priority deadlines
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office programs and Stratton Warren
